Crockpot Monkey Bread
Video below on how to make this funky monkey bread
I am still consistently trying different recipes with cinnamon rolls in the crockpot. The obsession continues. I mean, I might even say, I have gone bananas. Or, all these different tries with cinnamon rolls has been more fun than a barrel of monkeys! But I won't. I won't say those awkward, not great, monkey jokes. Instead, I will just say, here it is- cinnamon roll monkey bread, in the crockpot.
Ingredients/Recipe:
2 packages of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls
1/4 C of white sugar
1/4 C of brown sugar
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 stick of butter
Putting it Together:
Cut up each cinnamon roll into 4 pieces. After all are cut up, place in a bowl and then add the brown and white sugar, cinnamon, and melted 1/2 stick of butter. Mix it all up really well, until the cinnamon rolls are coated nicely in the buttery mixture.
Spray your crockpot, sides and bottom. Also, consider making a tin foil ring insert to help reduce burning on the edges (feel free to watch the video on YouTube which shows how to do this). Then put the cinnamon rolls into the crock. Place on low for 4 hours. After the 4 hours, move to warm or off and let it sit for about 30 minutes.
Serving:
This is fantastic fresh out of the crockpot, but also found that it's nearly as lovely as a leftover. This is a great breakfast or dessert option, and, if you want to really get crazy, you can serve with some of the icing that came with the cinnamon rolls. It's a really nice bonus!
Load of Crock Tip(s):
Highly suggest making the tin foil ring. This not only helps reduce the burning of the edges, but makes clean up of the crock much, much easier.
I used the Grands! Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, however, the regular sized ones work just as great, these happened to be the ones I had when I was trying out the recipe.
I know, I know. Now that you've read through this, it’s going to be monkey see, monkey do, am I right? A perfect way to monkey around with cinnamon rolls in the crockpot! Ok. I will stop. For now. Enjoy!
