Crockpot Chicken Parmesan Pasta
Video below on how to make this tummy-pleasing pasta
Crockpot chicken parmesan pasta, one of the easiest ways to get a thank you note from your belly. While this crockpot recipe essentially has 3 steps, it is still very easy and requires minimal time. Truly. Someone once said 'carbs are the enemy' but I say, try this first, then you tell me.
Ingredients/Recipe:
3-4 chicken breasts (fresh/thawed, not frozen)
Salt
Pepper
Oregano
1 jar of marinara sauce
A can of stewed tomatoes (optional)
1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup of shredded parmesan cheese
1 box of preferred pasta (bow ties and penne work well)
Putting It Together:
Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper and oregano. Spray the crockpot, sides and bottom, and then place the seasoned chicken breasts in the crockpot. Pour the can of marinara sauce over the chicken. For a little bit “chunkier” feel to the sauce, add some stewed tomatoes on top. Place your crockpot on low for 3-4 hours.
About 30 minutes before the chicken is done in the crockpot, boil up some water on the stove top, and get the pasta noodles cooked.
Once the crockpot is done, shred the chicken up in the crockpot, and then add the cooked pasta noodles to the crockpot. Mix the noodles up really well with the chicken and sauce. Then, sprinkle the 1/4 C of shredded mozzarella, as well as the 1/4 cup of shredded parmesan cheese over the top of the chicken and pasta, close the crockpot lit and let it cook on low for another 15 minutes, until all the cheeses on top are nicely melted.
Serving:
After the cheese is nicely melted, serve right away. And because I do NOT believe that carbs are the enemy, I suggest serving this with some crusty bread, a ciabatta or French bread are always great choices. A nice side salad always pairs well with a red sauce pasta dish, as well.
Load of Crock Tip(s):
Cook the noodles only until they are al dente, as they will cook slightly more when they sit in the crockpot while the cheese is melting
So, if you are into snail mail, I encourage you to check your mailbox after making and eating this one, because as I shared earlier, you are going to get a thank you note from your belly.
