Beer Bread in the Crock Pot
This 3-ingredient bread is so easy to make, but I can never seem to get bread baking right in the oven; the sides end up crunchier than I would like or the sides are good, but the bottom is super dark. Enter: the crock pot! That's right, a really simple way to slow cook your bread and (for me) get it right!
Ingredients/Recipe:
3 C of self rising flour
1/3 C of white sugar
1 can or bottle of your favorite beer
Putting it Together:
Mix all three ingredients together in a bowl. Grease a bread pan and plop that mixture in it. Knead it out so it's generally evenly place in the pan. The top of it will be chunky, not flat, and that's how it should be.
Place the bread pan in the slow cooker and set it to low for 2.5 hours. Check it at that point, as it may require 15-20 minutes longer depending on your crock pot.
Serving
With butter. Lots and lots of butter. Also, honey tastes amazing on this bread. And, in a crazy turn of events, with nothing on it, it also tastes so good. And this is great with most meals you would have bread or biscuits with.
Load of Crock Tip(s):
Remember, the bread pan will be hot from sitting in the crock, so use oven gloves or pot holders as you would if it were coming out of the oven (I speak from experience…)
If you are feeling like a wild and crazy person on the day you make it, mix in some cinnamon into the mixture before putting it into bread pan. Adds a nice level of sweetness!
