Making Simple Holiday Cocktails

Video below on how to make some super simple holiday cocktails, along with some taste testing and commentary to assist you in picking your favorites

Friends! The holidays are upon us and I am super pumped to share this very special edition of Load of Crock. We are putting away the crockpot for one hot second, so that we may bring you what I am fondly referring to as Load of Crocktails. While I do understand that the holidays do not necessarily mean everyone will be drinking alcohol, I also understand that often times, gatherings and holiday traditions may include alcoholic beverages. So, this seemed like an opportune time to try some new cocktails, and share it with all of you!

My significant other joins me  as a co-host in this edition (video above) as we make and drink 4 different cocktails, as well as two seasonal beers, and share in "real-time" our feedback on each drink. As a disclaimer, we are beer and wine drinkers, nearly exclusively, so we truly have never made or tried the drinks that are included below in our video. So for those of you watching, you are 100% getting our honest thoughts and feedback on each drink. I encourage all of you watching to stick through to the end; we will report out on our favorites, which you do not want to miss. Not that this was a competition but, when anything includes the two of us, it's always a competition.

Below and included in our video are some very easy cocktails for you to consider including in any holiday gathering this season! Leading note: these measurements are rough, feel free to adjust for your taste buds, we were very liberal with the vodka in all drinks…

Cranberry Vodka Spritzer

  • 1/3 Vodka

  • 1/3 Cranberry juice

  • 1/3 Ginger ale

The Pronto

  • 1/3 Vodka

  • 1/3 Orange Juice

  • 1/3 Tonic water

Drunk Jack Frosty

  • 1/4 Vodka

  • 1/4 Champagne

  • 1/4 Blue curacao

  • 1/4 Lemonade

Suggestion from Load of Crock: For a less bitter taste, consider replacing champagne with ginger ale

Cranberry Mimosa (a simple holiday twist on a classic morning drink)

  • Champagne

  • Splash of cranberry juice

Thanks for joining us as we kick off the holiday season with some taste testing and super simple holiday-esque drinks. Happy holidays to all, from Load of Crock(tails)! Enjoy!
